NCBA ANNOUNCES CLIMATE NEUTRALITY GOAL FOR CATTLE UNDUSTRY BY 2040

On Thursday, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association announced a plan to address beef sustainability.  The announcement came during the NCBA general session, “Sustainability—Opportunity, or a Bunch of Bull?” 

CATTLE PLACEMENTS DROP 8%

The USDA says producers placed fewer cattle into U.S. feedlots during July 2021 than in July 2020. That year ago placement total was largely due to producers holding back supplies earlier in the 2020 due to concerns about demand caused by COVID-19.

CATTLE PRICES TO RISE AS SUPPLIES SHRINK

As the U.S. cattle cycle moves into its liquidation phase, cattle prices will go up as supply tightens, according to speakers at the annual CattleFax Protein and Grain Outlook, presented at the 2021 Cattle Industry Convention held in Nashville last week.
